Dr. Karishma Lalchandani
Sometimes, living a fulfilling life can involve finding balance between your multicultural identities. Other times, it may revolve around aspects of your life such as careers or relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners. Each individual is different and what they bring to therapy will be unique.
It is important to me that I learn about an individual’s background and upbringing to understand present-day experiences such as conflict-avoidance, emotional protection, or difficulty with self-esteem. This helps us create and practice tools together with your inner child in mind. While we will address skills you can use in your daily life to act in line with your values, we will also explore larger systems of harm that may be affecting how you show up for yourself and others.
I enjoy working with a diversity of clients and often work with those of the global majority and marginalized groups. I have clinical experience in an array of settings including schools, a psychiatric hospital, substance recovery center, college counseling center, and a practice specializing in working with adults with ADHD.
I believe that community, awareness, and radical love are essential to our healing and our work towards collective liberation. I look forward to welcoming you into a space of radical acceptance and teaming up with you to help you heal and live in line with your values.
In addition to my work, I also enjoy creating art, cooking, baking, analyzing messy reality TV, weight-lifting, book clubs, and honestly…TikTok (there’s so much to learn on there!). You may also see me at protests and justice-oriented efforts in my community. If you think we might make a good team, please reach out!
